Specialist Disability Housing Plan Reviews approved
Queensland’s care providers, family members and planners are finally gaining some ground in Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) plan approvals through NDIS plan revisions.
Lately we’ve seen an increase and faster turnaround time for participants’ plan reviews to include SDA funding in their packages. Enabling participants to get specialist funding for new SDA homes that suit their needs.
This will increase the number of people coming out of nursing homes, care facilities and hospitals and into a home of their own, along with thousands that are currently in unsuitable accommodation.
NDIS has recently provided some market data showing the supply/demand of SDA around the country. Click here to view SDA Market Data
At the moment, a whopping 8858 participants have SDA funding in an active NDIS plan, however there are less than 1700 houses enrolled in the system (with varying degree of accessibility).
On a good note, more and more investors are coming to the market to help fund these homes as the dust settles and the reality of what’s needed sinks in. These properties are needed NOW, and are ready to be filled.
